Howden neighbours scoop £90,000 lottery prize

Three families in Howden are celebrating after each bagging £30,000 in the People’s Postcode Lottery.

The neighbours scooped the cash when their postcode, DN14 7ZJ was announced as a winner on Saturday, August 13.

Jaymie Moss was among the winners and she was joined by her fiancé Matthew Dunne when she got the good news.

The 29-year-old said: “You don’t think it’s ever going to happen to you. It’s very overwhelming.”

Matthew added: “It’s not every day someone knocks on your door with £30,000! We’ve never won anything so to win a massive prize, it feels awesome.”

The win has come at a great time for the couple who only recently got engaged.

Matthew said: “I’ve just gone back to full time work after two years with Covid and Jaymie’s been studying for a year and a half to become a dental nurse.

“Everyone has had it tough over the last couple of years so this just takes the edge off. We’ve always wanted the garden doing and we’d also like a little holiday.

“It’s certainly going to do a lot for us as a young couple.”

The remaining winners who shared in the whopping £90,000 total win have chosen to remain anonymous.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson presented Jaymie with her prize.

He said: “It was a pleasure to deliver some nice golden envelopes to Howden and surprise Jaymie and Matthew. I’m sure the money will come in handy when they’re planning for the wedding!

“I hope our other winners are just as thrilled as they are and they also enjoy treating themselves to something special with the cash.”
